Build 80710
10 July, 2008 |

style is used for "also recorded..." events. |

- NEW: "Ignore OBJE tags" option (Data Filters section) to ignore all image
records within the GEDCOM file. This is provided for users with files

tree charts. |

as month and year, or year only (i.e., no day number), or (ii) expressed as
day and month without a year. |
Build 80412
12 April, 2008 |
- Fixed:
Processing error related to
ignoring media that are not flagged "_SCBK Y" (Data Filters option
for Legacy users) which

- Fixed: GedPad now processes a "Change all" operation correctly. |
Build 80403
3 April, 2008 |
- NEW: Language options for English reports to simplify the reported
descriptions for cousin relationships (distance and/or removals). The
use of these options is not recommended unless the recipient of the report
prefers this format and understands that the technically inaccurate and
incomplete relationship descriptions are not due to a deficiency of The
Complete Genealogy Reporter. |
Build 80402
2 April, 2008 |

- IMPROVED: If the text data of a TITLe tag and an ABBReviation tag of a

and superscript may be included in notes within the
GEDCOM
file, e.g. "<i>this is italic<-i>". A new "Notes" option specifies

to the use of pronouns.

sometime not justified to the right margin). |
Build 80321
21 March, 2008 |
- IMPROVED: Significant changes have been made to the Spanish translation file.
- IMPROVED: Some changes have been made to the Italian translation file.
- Fixed: Some minor formatting issues. |
Build 80315
15 March, 2008 |
- NEW: The phrase "...were not married" is now only narrated when the
corresponding new Report Family option is selected. This change
addresses potential sensitivities regarding the use of this phrase for
unmarried partners.
- NEW: Users may now select (via a new "General" option) that a specified
folder is to be used as an alternative to the Windows standard "My
Documents" and "Application Data" folders for the user. This is
primarily for users for whom the standard folders are distributed across a
network and it is preferred that they be maintained on the local computer.
See "General" options.
- NEW: Support for Unicode and UTF-8 file formats has been introduced.
User-created files, such as description files and custom sections, may now
be created as Unicode or UTF-8. Also, configuration and save/recovery
files are managed as Unicode files for users in locales which include
characters beyond the standard ANSI character set. This improvement
prepares the path for the future addition of Central European languages
(such as Czech, Polish, and Slovak).
- IMPROVED: Some changes have been made to the Italian translation file.
- CHANGED: Primary pictures (those that are to be included as thumbnails in
the narrative sections) are restricted to those defined as level 1 OBJEs
within an INDI record. This addresses an issue for Legacy users (who
do not have the ability to not have a "preferred" picture) that would occur
when no individual level image exists and an image associated with an event
would be processed as an unwanted thumbnail. |
Build 80311
11 March, 2008 |
- Fixed: Some custom events for families were not being reported. (For
MyHeritage Family Tree Builder users.) |
Build 80304
4 March, 2008 |

- NEW: "Add Blank Entries" capability for each description file. This
adds entries for each undescribed person, place, year, occupation or cause
of death to the corresponding descriptions file.
- Fixed: Unusual problem whereby Language and Printer selections may not
shown.
- Fixed: Identification of image cutouts attached to sources. (For
Family Historian users.) |
Build 80227
27 February, 2008 |
- IMPROVED: Significant restructuring of the user interface with respect to
description files. This is to improve ease of use of this increasingly
popular capability. The inclusion of descriptions is now directly
selected via the expanded "Include..." list for report creation; existing
descriptions files may be directly edited from within the "Include..." list.
The previous "Descriptions" options section has been removed.
Parameters for place picture sizes and maps per page are now set within the
corresponding sections of the Section Control Panel. The Section
Control Panel is now accessed by the "Sections" button, next to the
"Options" button, thus avoiding the need to load the data before configuring
sections.

within a note associated with the media item. |

- NEW: Descriptions may now be specified for the "Causes of Death" section.
- UPDATED: Corrections have been made to the Italiano language
translation.
- IMPROVED: Recognition of notes and sources within OBJE record structures.
- CHANGED: Relationships which were expressed within quote marks to indicate
a non-natural relationship (e.g., ""nephew" by adoption) are now expressed
without the quote marks unless there is more than one non-natural
relationship (e.g., "grandson" via two adoptions retains the quote marks).
- Fixed: A partner of a relative is now correctly reported as such.
(Previously the "partner" part of the relationship may have been omitted.)
- Fixed: Statistics that were not appearing in the Introduction section for
indirect and unconnected sections.
- Fixed: Miscellaneous minor formatting issues. |
Build 80220
20 February, 2008 |
- UPDATED: Minor corrections have been made to the Dansk language
translation.
- Fixed: First and last names recorded as blank entries will now be reported
as blank texts when the "Standardize Unknown Names" Data Filter option is
deselected. Note that an individual with neither name specified will
have no name reported at all; this may produce unwanted effects in the
report.
- Fixed: Pictures specified in description files are now correctly aligned,
with the text of the description wrapping correctly around it, when they
arepositioned on the right-side of pages. |
Build 80219
19 February, 2008 |
- Fixed: Reporting of void first and last names when the "Standardize
Unknown Names" data filter has been deselected. These are now
correctly not reported, except that the narrative event detail will report
He or She instead of a blank first name in order to provide a subject to the
verb. |
Build 80216
16 February, 2008 |
- NEW: Italian language is complete. Portuguese (European) language is now "beta" status.
- NEW: Ability to change the titles of the standard sections via the Section
Control Panel (accessed with the "Configure" button in the list of sections
to be reported in the report creation window). Dynamic name references may be
specified for some section titles.
- NEW: Ability to change the report order of the standard sections.
- IMPROVED: New Custom Section files may now be created from within the Section
Control Panel.
- CHANGED: English (US) and English (UK) are now separate items of the
report language selector and the English variant is no longer selected via
the Language options.
- CHANGED: Descriptions files are now edited via the Section Control Panel
(instead of the via the "Descriptions" options).
- CHANGED: The Introduction Section file is now edited via the Section
Control Panel (instead of the via the "General" options).
- Fixed:
Some cosmetic issues and minor
program errors. |
Build 80207
7 February, 2008 |
- NEW: HTML reports with frames (an additional option for report output).
This format produces a contents list on the left. The appearance and
ease of navigation therefore mirrors that of a PDF report. Most modern
browsers support frames.
- Fixed: Possible page numbering errors within Custom Sections.
- Fixed: Contents page layout when Custom Sections are included in an HTML report.
- Fixed: FONTSIZE commands now work correctly for custom preface sections
(those placed before the Introduction section). |
Build 80206
6 February, 2008 |
- NEW: Media option to add single-pixel black frames to images.
- NEW: Additional Custom Section control commands (RIGHT, SUBTITLE:UNDERLINE/NOUNDERLINE,
FRAME:START/END, FONTSIZE:).
- NEW: Support for the non-standard method of expressing dates as quarters
(e.g., "Sep Qtr 1886" or "Q3 1886"), as this is the form recorded by some
registration sources. For English language reports, new "Report
Dates" options specify how these are to be reported. For other
languages, these will be reported as "about August 1886".
- NEW: Separation of unconnected individuals into two categories: associated
individuals and unconnected individuals. Associated individuals are
those who are connected only by an ASSO tag; they would otherwise be
classified as unconnected. There are now separate
"Associated" and "Unconnected" selectors in the "Include..." list for the
report.
- NEW: An association is now, by default, also cross-referenced within the
associate's narrative as "Associated with...". This is controlled by
the new "Include reverse associations" option (Report Details).
- NEW: Unconnected (or associated) individuals who have no family
connections of their own are now reported together in a single "Unconnected
Individuals" (or "Associated Individuals") section instead of generating one
new section for each of them. This considerably reduces the size of
the report when there are many unconnected individuals.
- NEW: A "Combine common individual associates" option has been added to the
"Family Details" options. This provides the ability to report an
associate of a family (not permitted within the GEDCOM standards) if the
same associate data exists for each of the family partners. The
associate is then not reported as an individual associate of each of the
partners.
- IMPROVED: The selection windows for Unconnected and Associated individuals
are larger and are sorted by last name within size of group. This
makes it easier to find individuals that are to be selected/deselected
from large lists.
- UPDATED: Some language translations.
- CHANGED: "Do not report ASSO/RELA tags" has been removed from the Report
Details options and has been replaced by "Ignore ASSO/RELA tags" within the
Data Filters options. (This was necessary to support the above
enhancements.) |
Build 80127

commands, including the ability to include picture images in a custom
section. |

Source nn". "Source :" is replaced by a bullet character.

(e.g. 4/22/1888). If there are no numeric dates that are unambiguously
expressed as dd/mm/yyyy (e.g. 21/7/1842) within the file, the mm/dd format

numeric dates of each format, the warning of this ambiguity will be included
in the processing exceptions log. |
